Reading to Inspire
Thanks to my Audible subscription and the fact that my kids can now both read independently, I am reading (I count audio books) more now than I have in years.
I rarely buy books, instead making use of the public library in my community for physical and Kindle edition books. To track the books I am reading, have read and would like to read (way more than I have time for) I use Goodreads.
The last few months I have been inspired by the following books:
"The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" and "Spark Joy"
both by Marie Kondo
If you have read either of these books, you know that Marie Kondo's methods are extreme and in some cases, downright weird. At any rate, I found myself inspired to further simplify my life after reading these books. If you choose to pick these up, skip the audio version and read "Life Changing" first and then "Spark Joy".
"Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress Free Productivity"
by David Allen
I read and wrote a brief review of David Allen's bestseller years ago. The book was updated in 2015. I recommend listening to the audio version. Lately, I have been revisiting David Allen's work and seeing it in a whole new spiritual light. I particularly like the GTD podcast and this video.
"Better Than Before"
by Gretchen Rubin
I really love all of Gretchen Rubin's work, including her previous two books on happiness. "Better Than Before" is about habit science and required reading for the VIP clients that I work with. If you want to make positive change in your life, read Gretchen Rubin's last three books.
