Reflecting on Summer
As I sit down to write today's blog post I feel like Summer 2015 slipped through my fingertips. It is with a bit of sadness that I reflect on a summer that often felt rushed and stressful.
During our first in-person meeting, I expressed my summer time sentiments to Sarah from The Happiness Advocate. Sarah reminded me not to beat myself up over "Not Doing Summer Right". The thing is, summer, or any other time of the year, isn't always going to live up to our fantasy expectations.
When I look back through our family photographs from the summer, I see lots of good times with friends and extended family. Among other activities, I see a trip to Northern Michigan (see photo above) and a visit to the new Japanese Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Both items were on my summer bucket list. Check and check!
However, what I forgot to put on my summer goal sheet was to linger longer, love more and be more intentional with these fleeting days of a Michigan summer.
With that in mind, in the next post I will share what I learned this summer with the hope to remember this wisdom as we plan Summer 2016.
