Hello Summer
My kids are counting down the days left of school, while I am bracing myself for the transition into summer. You see, last summer felt like it slipped through my fingertips. I want this summer to be good, really good.
I must temper my fantasy expectations of a tidy home and perfectly behaved children. Where do those fantasies come from anyway? However, I do believe there are things we can do to set ourselves up for the best.
It's a combination between good planning and getting ourselves in the right mindset. Last September, I reflected on summer 2015 and wrote about about the mindset piece of this puzzle.
In December of last year, my husband and I started planning a proper summer vacation, not one that happens by chance, like in the past. By February of this year, my kids were signed up for some summer camps and I had each week of June, July and August roughly planned.
As time marches on we will see how well this strategy of advance planning works out. In the meantime, I am setting my intentions for a fabulous summer!
